Financial Reporting & Tax Accountant

Location:

The Financial & Tax Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with local and international tax authorities across multiple jurisdictions. This position involves supporting statutory reporting preparation, assisting managing tax compliance, assisting with audits, and contributing process improvements. The ideal candidate is a technically strong individual with a genuine interest in developing expertise in both accounting and tax, demonstrating attention to detail and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-pace multinational environment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Assist in preparing periodic and annual financial statements under IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Support & oversee month-end and year-end close processes , specifically relevant to external reporting & tax compliance requirements alongside the financial accounting department
  • Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable local GAAP.
  • Assist with group consolidation and intercompany reconciliations, ensuring proper elimination of intercompany transactions and balances.
  • Assist preparing statutory accounts and support external audit processes, including managing deliverables and responding to queries.
  • Monitor changes in accounting standards and assist with technical accounting research and memo preparation.

Tax Compliance

  • Preparing and work on filing VAT / GST, and withholding tax returns, other local indirect tax and duties, and corporate tax, across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Perform tax reconciliations and ensure accurate reflection of tax balances in the general ledger.
  • Work with local advisors and wider finance team to ensure timely and accurate tax filings.
  • Assisting maintaining transfer pricing documentation and manage intercompany charging mechanisms in line with both OECD and local requirements.
  • Assist in managing tax audits and inspections.
  • Assist in implementing tax projects that leverage technology and data analytics to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization while ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations.

Ad Hoc

  • Provide support for compliance projects, process improvements, and ERP enhancements.
  • Assist with documentation for governance obligations (e.g., SAO, tax strategy publication).
  • Support cross-functional projects and new business initiatives from a financial and tax perspective
  • Provide support and recommendations on ESG, CSRD & Carbon Emission reporting leveraging best practices across the group

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA), or finalist
  • 2–5 years’ experience in accounting and tax (multinational or Top 10 trained preferred but not essential).
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP, familiarity with both indirect and direct taxes.
  • Experience in consolidated financial statements and managing audits.
  • Skilled in accounting systems (Oracle, or similar) and strong Excel.
  • Experience with transfer pricing and cross-border taxation highly desirable, but not necessary.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across cultures and time zones.
